Limit carbohydrate intake to 20 grams or less per day. Protein intake is moderate. Fat intake is high. To do this you need a clear understanding of the macronutrient content of different foods. Macronutrients are carbohydrates, protein and fat.
The CDC lists diabetes as the 7th leading cause of death in the US but the general public don’t view diabetes as a killer disease. It does its damage too slowly.
I see patients with multiple chronic diseases every day. I do my best to help them with medication, testing, procedures etc… I find it heartbreaking that so much suffering could be alleviated with lifestyle changes. Truly heartbreaking. Simple changes. Better diet, regular exercise, stress management, improved sleep quality, etc…
